And The Dreamiest Teen of 2008 Award Goes To…

Over The Holiday Break, I watched High School Musical 2. I had mentioned to one of My Fourth Graders that I had had it Tivod since its premiere in August, but had yet to Watch It. This resulted in a chorus of, “WHAT???!!! OHMY GOD YOU HAVE TO WATCH HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2!!! IT IS EVEN BETTER THAN HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL THE FIRST ONE!!!! I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED IT YET, MISS THE DAILY RANDI!!!! THAT’S CRAZY!!!!! I HAVE SEEN IT, LIKE, 143 TIMES ALREADY!!! OHMYGOD!!!!!! WAHHHHHHHH!!!!” from Several Other Fourth Graders within Earshot of the original conversation. So, I figured I better go home and watch High School Musical 2.

This is What I Know: Kids are An Excellent Judge of whether Something is Good or Not. For example, Many Students have told me that the movie, Eight Below was Excellent. Upon viewing, I realized they were Right. When Spiderman 3 came out, I asked Some Kids if They Liked It and they said, “Eh. There were Too Many Bad Guys.” I watched it and thought, “The Kids were Right Again! Too many Bad Guys!” Lots of Kids have told me that they Hated Pirates of the Caribbean 3 because it was Way Too Complicated. I have yet to see it, though. I don’t know if they are Right about That One.

But, I do know that The Kids were Correct about High School Musical 2! It was Really Really Good! Mostly because That Zac Efron is One Dreamy Teen. I would Seriously Paper My Walls with his Dreaminess, but I think Totally Awesome Fiancé would Object. No. I Mean It. How did Zac Efron get So Dreamy? Why wasn’t Such Dreaminess around when I was Still A Teenager? I had to settle for Kirk Cameron and Charlie Sheen. Not Fair and Not Nearly As Dreamy.

And so, I am presenting Zac Efron with The Dreamiest Teen of 2008 Award. Congratulations, Zac.

And, Yes, Zac, you can Thank Me anyway You Would Like.

(I Know: In My Dreams.)

I just woke up from a nap!

Have you seen him in the new _Hairspray_ movie? He's dreamy in that, too.

My friends kids all rave about High School Musical and High School Musical 2 but I have no idea what these moves are or about. This post makes me want to find out!

PS. I 'm jealous you'll get to see Lost. I don't think I'll be getting it here in Germany, so please no spoilers!!! :-)

I got the same reaction from my little cousins when I announced that I had yet to see the original High School Musical. Holy shit, they were shocked. So I didn't bother adding that I thought that blond girl looked better before the nose job! I recently fell upon your blog and love it, you crack me up!

Thank you thank you thank you for making me feel better about my secret crush on Zac Efron. I watch HSM with my 7 year old and we both squeal at how dreamy he is. I rationalize this by saying that I AM NOT A CREEP because there's a slight resemblance between Z.E. and my blue-eyed, black-haired hubby. That's totally a strech, but it makes me feel a little better. (And yes, he's retro-dreamy in Hairspray too.)I'm so glad I'm not the only adult who has devoted a blog post to this, although mine was, in fact, back in August. Daily Randi, I'm so sorry that no one told you that HSM2 is more fun than TMZ!!!

Oh, I saw Hairspray... Hairspray, incidentally, was Well Reviewed by The Kids, too. And, yes, Zac Efron is Very Dreamy in it.

Oh, yeah. I totally feel like a dirty ol woman for thinking Zac Efron is hot. For an especially hot pic of him, Google his Rolling Stone cover. Wait, that sounded dirty...
