A Rose By Any Other Name Would Smell Almost As Sweet As Those Two, Over There

It seems Every Celebrity Couple these days has A Name. You know – like “Bragelina!” (Brad Pitt + Angelina Jolie) Or “Vaughniston”! (Vince Vaughn + Jennifer Anniston) And, “Spederline”! (Ugh.) Back in The Day, it was simply enough to Be A Couple, by Dating and Stuff. Now, you are Not A Couple until you have been Christened with some sort of Colorful, Comical Combination of Both Your Names. Sometimes, I wonder if The Celebrities don’t make up these monikers themselves, in an effort to win more Publicity.

Just the other day, in fact, I turned to Totally Awesome Boyfriend and said, "We need More Publicity! Let’s Make Up A Name for Our Coupledom!” Then, as Totally Awesome Boyfriend rolled his eyes, I came up with A Short List:

“The Dailysome Boy”

“Totadaily”

“Awesome-di”

Um, and that was The Best I Could Do. They all kind of Suck. So, it’s A Damn Good Thing we‘re Not Celebrities. Or Our Relationship would be Doomed.

Actually, that’s not true -- Our Relationship would be as Terrific As Ever!

It ‘s our Publicist who would be Really Suffering.

That's a great idea!! I want a celebrity coupledom name! But it would probably be obvious by the tabloids to call us THE MOGULS.

Hmm. Naked Girl and her TruckDriver husband are going to have a lot of fun pondering this monnickery.

You can have MANDI... just not MANDY. ;-)

Personally, I like you ideas on the name. But somehow, I don't think you all need it to be a totally original couple.

I always thought BEN-LO was funny. Everything after that I thought was kind of lame.

This reminded me of a Stephen Colbert piece about how to be a successful Hollywood couple: Rule #1: Have a marketable nickname. He combines William H. Macy and Felicity Huffman to be "Filliam H. Muffman."
