TODAY’S CELEBRITIES: Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe.
Late one Weeknight, Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe came in to The Super Trendy (At The Time) Los Angeles Hotel Restaurant where I used to work. They told The Hostess they just wanted Dessert and they didn’t mind at all when they had to wait Briefly for a table to be set for them. They were both dressed Very Handsomely, looking as if they had just come from Some Party Or Other. I assumed they came from A Premiere at one of The Nearby Movie Theatres.
Indeed, they did order Just Dessert. And, yes, Reese Witherspoon Ate Hers. They had what appeared to be A Serious Conversation and seemed Very Much In Love. They even Held Hands across the table.
Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe were Exceptionally Polite. They both said, “Please” and “Thank You” and Made Eye Contact With Me and Smiled, and not like they were Smiling At The Help So They Wouldn’t Quit And Write A Tell-All Book. It is The Policy of The Hotel to Address All Guests Staying Or Eating In The Hotel By Their Surnames Upon Presenting Any Check. So, I was kind of Embarrassed when I had to say, “Thank you Mr. Philippe!” at the end. I wasn’t sure if it was Pronounced “Phill-uh-pay” or ”Phee-leeee-pay” since I had heard it said Both Ways and Lord Knows, Us Magazine doesn’t come with A Pronunciation Guide. I made The Choice to say His Name Really Fast instead, like I had Food In My Mouth or Had To Sneeze and/or I Dropped Something On The Floor Mid Sentence. He didn’t seem to mind and left me A Very Nice Gratuity.
I was Sad when they Broke Up last year because they seemed like A Nice, Normal, Happy Couple.
But, I figure, Reese Witherspoon just got Sick Of Teaching Everyone How To Say Her Husband’s Last Name.
Or, He Cheated On Her. Whichever.

what desserts did they order? or do you not "serve and tell?"
Phee-LEE-pay reminds me of that little waiter dude from Three's Company who used to say "chame chame chame".
There was something very V.C Andrews about that couple, if you catch my drift.
I always thought it was Phil-LEE-pay also. In addition, I also always thought his middle name was Phillip and his agent just tarted that up and made it his last name.
I am digging your famous people stories.
I think he was sitting in first class on the flight I was on to LA last week. Sadly, this is the closest I'll get to fame.
